Day 1 of the Youth Democracy Camp: Youth’s Engagement in Promoting Democratic Governance

The Cambodian Institute for Democracy (CID) organized a Youth Democracy Camp with a focus on the theme “Youth’s Engagement in Promoting Democratic Governance.” This camp aims to empower youth with knowledge of democratic principles, good governance practices, and the importance of civic engagement in fostering accountability and inclusivity in governance and decision-making processes; to equip participants with practical leadership, advocacy, and dialogue skills to enable meaningful participation in democratic processes; and to inspire active participation in democratic processes, emphasizing the importance of youth voices in shaping policies that affect their lives.

On the first day of the event, participants took part in team-building activities that helped them get to know one another better and fostered team spirit. Additionally, they learned about the youth-led initiative and proposal writing.
