Who We Are

National Dialogue on Human Rights in Cambodia: Challenges and Ways Forward, December 4, 2023

WHO WE ARE

The Cambodian Institute for Democracy (CID) is a non-government and independent think tank working to support and strengthen democracy as a fundamental principle necessary for Cambodia’s social, economic, and political development. The institute was founded on October 23, 2019 by a group of Cambodian intellectuals and has been registered in accordance with the Law for Associations and Non-Government Organisations since December 2019.

As a think tank, CID conducts evidence-based research on issues that impact human rights, democracy, and development for CSOs, development aid agencies, INGOs, academic institutions, media outlets, and policymakers. CID also provides capacity-building on a wide range of topics and organises various events, including dialogues, youth camps, webinars, seminars, workshops, and conferences. CID enhances its advocacy efforts and thought leadership by engaging with media and other relevant stakeholders as well as creating digital content for social media platforms in order to widen influence and engagement.
