Day 2 of the Youth Democracy Camp: Youth Engagement in Promoting Democratic Governance

The Cambodian Institute for Democracy (CID) organized a youth democracy camp with a focus on the theme “Youth’s Engagement in Promoting Democratic Governance.” This camp aims to empower youth with knowledge of democratic principles, good governance practices, and the importance of civic engagement in fostering accountability and inclusivity in governance and decision-making processes; to equip participants with practical leadership, advocacy, and dialogue skills to enable meaningful participation in democratic processes; and to inspire active participation in democratic processes, emphasizing the importance of youth voices in shaping policies that affect their lives.

On the second day of the event, participants engaged in insightful sessions on key topics. The day began with “Understanding Democracy and Good Governance and Using Digital Platforms to Promote Good Governance”, led by PA Chanroeun, President of CID. This was followed by an inspiring session on “Youth Leadership and Active Citizenship to Enhance Good Governance”, facilitated by Mr. YONG Kim Eng, President of PDP-Centre. The day concluded with an engaging session on “How to Write an Op-ed”, conducted by Dr. Ro Vannak, Lecturer in Political Science.
